Edward Schrodinger was born in Vienna, Austria, and lived from 1887-1962. He was born into a protestant family and was compelled to relocate many times in his life, simply to find religious tolerance. He had Tuberculosis throughout his life, but was able to accomplish much throughout his life. Weirdly, his strengths lied more within languages than in fields such as physics or mathematics. He eventually reached the highest possible academic degree, called Habilitation.
Schrodinger's biggest contribution to the atomic theory was his equation, aptly names the Schrodinger equation. This allowed for the energy levels of electrons to be calculated. He also believed in the wave theory of electrons and said that they could be used to explain how electrons worked. He made the Schrodinger equation through usage of mathematics and his testing with lights while suffering tuberculosis. He wrote three books about how wave equations can explain how electrons could be described.
Some interesting facts of Schrodinger are that most of his well known discoveries came from when he suffered Tuberculosis, showing that he wasn't hindered from the disease. Another interesting fact about Schrodinger is that he created the Schrodinger's cat thought experiment, in which a cat can be classified as both dead and not dead when put in a box with the possibility of both.
